Redesigning a food & beverage storefront to grow online orders

The challenge

A food & beverage brand had a loyal following but a storefront that got in its own way: a cluttered product experience, a checkout that lost people on mobile, and pages slow enough to cost sales during campaign spikes. Traffic was healthy; the store just wasn't converting it into orders at the rate the brand deserved.

What we did

We redesigned the storefront around the buying journey, not the CMS. Product pages were simplified to the decisions that actually drive a purchase, the checkout was rebuilt to be short and fast on mobile, and the critical path was re-engineered around Core Web Vitals so it stays quick under campaign load. The brand's voice got louder; the friction got quieter.

This brand didn’t have a traffic problem. It had a conversion problem — the hardest kind to spot, because the top-line numbers look fine right up until you compare visits to orders. People were arriving, browsing, and leaving without buying, and the storefront was quietly to blame: too much to wade through, a checkout that stumbled on mobile, and pages that slowed down at exactly the moment a campaign brought a rush of visitors.

Design around the purchase, not the platform

We rebuilt the product experience around the small number of decisions a shopper actually makes before buying, and cut the rest. The checkout was rebuilt to be short, forgiving and fast on a phone — where most of the traffic was and most of the drop-off happened. Nothing about the redesign was decoration; every change either helped someone decide or helped them pay.

Make it fast when it matters most

A food & beverage store lives and dies by campaign spikes — a launch, a promotion, a seasonal push. We re-engineered the critical path around Core Web Vitals so the store stays quick precisely when traffic surges, instead of slowing down and shedding sales at the worst possible moment.

The figures here are illustrative of what this kind of conversion-focused eCommerce redesign delivers; this is a representative, industry-level example and the client is not named. The transferable lesson: when traffic is healthy but orders aren’t, the fix is usually in the storefront — simplify the decision, speed up the path, and protect it under load.

If your store gets the visits but not the orders, that’s the work our eCommerce and design teams do together. Start a conversation.
